My children already have Disney Plus Bands, can we use those in place of the kids club bands?

Ahoy, Tosha! I am delighted to welcome you to planDisney as you turn your Disney Cruise Line dreams into plans.

I am a huge fan of MagicBand+ and may have more than I technically need, but so many of the designs call me just like the line where the sky meets the sea. When I heard you could use DisneyBand+ on the ships, I was thrilled! I love snapping a band on my wrist—my brain automagically transforms into vacation mode. The ships using DisneyBand+ were the main reason I upgraded my kids' MagicBands.

Like at the parks, the bands allow you to access your stateroom, charge purchases to your onboard account and leave all the artifacts of life in the real world (aka credit cards) behind. The DisneyBand+ is also good for children ages 3-10 to check in and out of the Oceaneer Club and Lab.

One of the best things about the DisneyBand+ is you can wear it in the pool. No more taking lanyards off and trying to keep track of all the cards while the little sailors are making a splash. It's also the same for pictures. I like capturing all the memorable moments and character greetings. With the DisneyBand+, I don't have to remember to take off lanyards or walk around like a decorated Christmas tree with my kids' cards dangling from my arms.

If you purchased a DisneyBand+ through your cruise reservation, it should be connected to your account. If you have a MagicBand+ from a Walt Disney World vacation, you can link the band to your cruise account. Just go to "Already Booked" and select "DisneyBand+ & More." Follow the prompts to link a band. And if you need any assistance, Cast Members at the port can easily help on the day of your cruise.

Tosha, since you have technology on your mind, I'll share one of my tech tips: Right before my cruise, I like to ensure my Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is up to date with the latest software version. When it's time to log in to the ship's Wi-Fi and view the activities and schedules, I'm ready to gooooo! Waiting for an app to update is not on the itinerary.

I have no doubt you and your family will have a lifetime of memories from your time aboard the most magical ships at sea. If you have any other questions as you get ready for your adventure beyond the reef, please cruise back by planDisney. You've got a friend in us!

    Magic Awaits!
