Ahoy, and welcome to planDisney, Jim! I am so glad you stopped by with this question. I might have booked a cruise on the
Disney Dream a few years ago just to fly the Star Wars: Millennium Falcon in the
Oceaneer Club. I could say "for my kids to fly" but no, it was for me.
Embarkation Day on the ship is so much fun! The ships have so many amazing spaces specifically designed for particular ages to enjoy while cruising, but on the first day, it's like Neverland: age does not exist. Your whole family can enjoy the Oceaneer Club during Open House. I am sure your toddler will love Andy's Room and Pixie Hollow. And I would highly recommend you fly the Falcon. There is fun for everyone! Be sure to also visit
Disney's Oceaneer Lab and the lighted dance floor. You can also check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for other Open House times, too. I have seen it open on the day at Castaway Cay. While this is a not-to-be-missed destination, time to play in air conditioning is also a welcome treat.
On our first Disney Cruise, my youngest was two years old. We loved
"it's a small world" nursery! I'm sure you know about this magnificent place. We scheduled the nursery during nap time, and it worked so well. He could play a little and rest, and we enjoyed activities on the ship.
I hope your time on board is a DREAM and you enjoy all the ship has to offer!
Bon Voyage!
