Hi Carla! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
I can appreciate that eating away from home with a food allergy presents a special challenge. We're currently working around a dairy intolerance with one child, so I can sympathize. Disneyland Resort offers some helpful
guidance about dining in the parks with an allergy or special dietary needs, which I encourage you to look over. Many dining locations can prepare meals without common allergens, and you can utilize the
Disneyland mobile app when selecting menu items at Quick Service locations to find choices that fit your needs. And most of all, always speak with a Cast Member about your child's allergen as the first step.
Unfortunately, the
Celebration Cakes available for order at select Disneyland Resort dining locations are prepared ahead of time, and they currently contain gluten, wheat, soy, milk, and eggs. These cakes are produced in facilities that may also include other allergens such as peanuts and tree nuts. It's up to you to decide whether this option or any Disneyland Resort option is right for your family, based on your child's needs.
Please be aware that you can
bring food from home into the parks. Just check out the park rules for current information about what can safely enter the parks before packing your park bag. If treats made in facilities that might process nuts don't fit your needs, feel free to bring something you feel good about serving your child from home, and
celebrate their birthday at the Disneyland Resort in other ways.
A birthday
Ears Hat is always a good choice if you're looking for an impactful souvenir that will look fun in Disney PhotoPass photos and get lots of well-wishes throughout the day. A complimentary Celebratory Button is also a great way to let people know it's your special day, and they make for a great souvenir to take home with you.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
