Hello Travis,
Thank you so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question. I am happy to assist you with some information so that your trip is a little less stressful. A dear friend of mine has a daughter who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and has recently traveled to Walt Disney World with her. So, I am somewhat aware of the concerns of keeping his levels on track.
Great news! You can absolutely bring any snacks that he may need throughout the day. As long as they are not in glass containers and can fit in your backpack, tote bag or soft cover cooler, you can bring it in.
I would also suggest doing an online search for "Type 1 Diabetes and Walt Disney World" to find a wide variety of online articles and resources for traveling to the theme parks, many of which have been written by families or individuals who also have Type 1 Diabetes. These are full of great first hand useful information on where you can dispose of sharps, where the best shady spots are,
first aid locations, and even the suggestion for a
Disability Access Service (DAS) card.
With a little careful planning, your trip can be just as magical and less stressful. I wish you all the magic and pixie dust that awaits you.
