If your child is 2 turning 3 during your vacation, the age goes by what they are on the first day of your vacation. Does first day of vacation refer to first day at hotel or first day at parks? My child turns 3 on jan 22.

Hey there, Sarah-Rose, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the panel with your question!

As a father of 4, I am well versed in executing Disney Vacations with toddlers in tow! And let me tell you, it takes some serious planning prowess to keep everyone on the same page. Because let’s be honest, are our toddlers ever on the same page with us? When booking your reservation, you should use the age of your child on the first day of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation. It looks like your arrival date is January 21, 2023, and your child will still be 2 on that date, so that’s the age to go with! Additionally, in my experience Disney Cast Members have never questioned the age of my kids, even when I had a tall 2-year-old - he was tall enough to pilot the ship on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This sounds like the best birthday gift a 2-year-old could ever receive! One gift that gives back to the parent on a Disney Vacation is a Stroller Rental! I am biased in this, however, the stroller is the most needed Disney Toddler Vacation accessory! Stroller rentals are available daily within the Theme Parks or through Disney’s Featured Provider, Scooterbug. Since the Theme Park rentals are only available for use in the parks, I typically recommend that families with toddlers consider Scooterbug as you can also use the stroller outside of the Theme Parks. After a day of walking the parks, you do not want to get caught carrying a sleepy toddler too! The stroller alleviates all of that.

I hope this helps, Sarah-Rose! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation, stop back by and let me know
