Greetings, Alicia, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to have you hEAR! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate your child’s birthday than at the
Happiest Place on Earth!
As the mom of three little Mouseketeers, I understand what an important question this is when making your magical plans. The answer depends on how you’ve booked your Disneyland Resort getaway. If you booked a
Vacation Package that includes theme-park tickets and hotel accommodations at a
Disneyland Resort Hotel or a
Good Neighbor Hotel, then your child’s age at check-in will remain their age for the duration of your visit, and they won’t require a theme-park ticket. However, if you plan on purchasing your theme-park tickets separately, then your child will require a ticket on the day they turn 3, and on all the days thereafter. Just look for the “child” ticket, which is available to Guests ages 3-9, and is slightly discounted from the adult price.
Visiting the parks with a 3-year-old is so much fun! Once toddlers hit the
40” height requirement, they can start enjoying attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, and Radiator Springs Racers! Here’s a helpful guide to
visiting the Disneyland Resort theme parks with a preschooler. Be sure to check out the
Baby Care Centers, located inside each park, for the perfect spot to take a break, change clothes, or even use the tiny toilets!
Last but not least, don't forget to nab a complimentary
birthday button for your special 3-year-old! You can find these at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., or at Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park.
I hope this helps, Alicia! Please stop by with any additional planning questions you have… I’m all EARs!
Wishing you a magical visit,
Kristin
