How does child swap work on Rise of the Resistance at Disney Hollywood Studios, Orlando? We do not have magic bands and will be purchasing one day tickets to the park.

Hey Howdy Hey Bethany and welcome to planDisney!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is such a fantastic ride I am glad you are thinking about experiencing this attraction on your trip. I was able to have this experience on our last trip to Walt Disney World Resort with my two older girls and they absolutely LOVED it! After we got home we had to start watching all of the Star Wars movies so they could figure out who they saw in the attraction, which I was perfectly O.K. with. Disney's Rider Switch Service is so beneficial when touring the parks for just this reason. Everyone can take turns experiencing the attraction while the little one or those that do not want to experience it can wait with part of the party.

Rider Switch works with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance similar to other attractions. You would approach the Cast Member at the front greeting area of the line and ask about Rider Switch. Divide your party into two groups, one to ride and one to stay with the little one. Once the party that experiences the attraction is finished, you meet back up and switch roles.

With technology what it is and the release of Disney MagicMobile Service, you do not need to have a MagicBand to take advantage of Rider Switch. You can set up a MagicMobile Service account on your smart device you plan on taking to the parks and the Cast Members can load the entitlements to your account virtually. If you do have the physical cards for your ticket, they can use that as well. Either way, there are many ways that the Cast Members will make sure you and your party are able to experience this attraction.

I hope you have also made your reservation to experience Oga's Cantina as well in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This watering hole is famous for locals of Batuu to kick back and have a drink and light snacks. It is an experience for the whole family to enjoy both with the food and drink offerings as well as the atmosphere itself for an out-of-this-world experience! If you are not able to snag a reservation from your My Disney Experience account, as you are in Galaxy's Edge, you can walk by Oga's and talk to the Cast Member out front. Sometimes they have a walk-up list that you can put your name on with a much more manageable wait time than it would seem.

Have fun with your final preparations for your upcoming trip in March. So much to look forward to on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Happy Planning,

    Nick
