Hi Samantha!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As the mom to two little boys, we have taken many trips to Walt Disney World Resort with little ones who aren't quite tall enough to enjoy all of the "big kid" attractions! The
Rider Switch program is such an awesome way for everyone to enjoy the attractions on their "must-do" lists without anyone feeling left out or waiting in unnecessary queues!
To use the Rider Switch program, simply proceed to the attraction queue entrance with your entire family, including little one who will not be riding, and let them know that you would like to use Rider Switch. The will allow the first group of riders to enter the queue with a Rider Switch lanyard, which will later be traded for a Rider Switch ticket. The adult who is staying with the little one while the first group rides will be able to explore other areas of the theme park while the first group waits in the queue and enjoys the attraction. I love this feature of the Rider Switch program because my little ones never have to wait in attraction queues for things they won't be riding.
Once the first group enjoys the attraction, they can meet up with the rest of the family in the theme park, give them the Rider Switch ticket and then the adult who didn't ride can use the Rider Switch ticket to enter the FastPass+ queue to enjoy the attraction while those not riding can remain in other areas of the theme park with the little one. I like to use this time to take my little ones on attractions they will enjoy, such as
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, or grab special treat for them!
Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue planning. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
