    Are the child seats on the bikes at Castaway Cay appropriate for a 10 month old? Or do they have those trailer things? Travelling with family that will have the baby with them.

    Hi there, Kevin!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited to hEAR that you are heading out on a Disney Cruise Line vacation!  I hope you are ready for non-stop fun and excitement because that’s what’s coming your way!

    How excited are you to be visiting Castaway Cay?!?!  It happens to be one of MY favorite stops and I always look forward to a leisurely day on the beach.  I love that everything is still so close to the ship that you can go back if you need to – or just want to!  There are so many things to do and so many ways to spend your day while at Castaway Cay.  And, yes…renting bicycles is one thing that we do enjoy doing as a family!  It’s a great way to explore the island.  They do not have bike trailers to rent, but the child seats on the bicycles are the typical “behind the parent” bucket seat type.  I checked with a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member and the recommended maximum weight is 40 pounds with no minimum weight requirement.  I think if they are comfortable with your ten-month old riding behind then, then they will be good to go.  You can pre-reserve bicycle rentals through Port Adventures or just head over to the bike barn when you are there and rent some…there are plenty and you shouldn’t have a problem renting them the day of!
