Hey Howdy Hey Johannah and welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like the planning for your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is moving right along! Looks like you might have minor issues getting everyone in one room. Not to worry Johannah, with our family of 5 this has been an obstacle my family and I face every time we travel. Let's review a few things first and then point you in the right direction.
In most cases, when booking a
Disney Resorts Collection accommodation online, you will see the maximum number of people allowed to stay in those rooms. If a room states it can sleep 4 adults, usually when booking online, you may not be able to add any more to your reservation after 4. The only way you can go over that number is if you have an infant traveling with you and they are under 3 years old. If you do want to add the fourth child to your reservation, you more than likely will have to upgrade your resort room.
When it comes to traveling with a party of 5 or more, Disney has reimagined many rooms across their resorts to accommodate larger parties. Family suites are one of the options for larger parties to have enough room for everyone as well as a little privacy. Your other option will be looking for the 5th sleeper option. At many resorts in Walt Disney World, when you look up "Room Rates" you will see these options with the stated room and "-5th sleeper" which will be able to accommodate 5 people comfortably.
Currently, you will find the 5th sleeper option at many of the Disney resorts in the
Moderate Resort Hotels category. One of our favorite resorts is
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. You will find that they do have the 5th sleeper option but one of the big amenities is your transportation options. This resort is connected to
Disney Skyliner and is a great option to quickly get to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT in a very unique way! Although you may have to upgrade your resort category, these resorts are not only amazing but may give you a little extra space for a price less than that of a family suite.
I hope this helps give you a little more clarity on your options as well as some ideas of where to look into if upgrading your current room accommodations is the way to go. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we are always happy to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
