Will a child under 3, who does not have a park ticket but meets the ride's height requirements, be able to join us on Barnstormer, 7 Dwarfs, etc? She loves roller coasters and is already tall enough for Barnstormer! TY.

Hi Eileen, and welcome back to planDisney!

It sounds like your adventurous, little Mousesketeer is ready to take on some of Walt Disney World Resort's more thrilling attractions! My two boys were very tall for their ages when they were enjoying their free visits to the Most Magical Place on Earth, too.

I have great news for you, Eileen! Your daughter, because she is under the age of 3, won't need a theme park ticket or reservation. But this will not keep her from joining the rollercoaster fun. As long as she meets the height requirement for a particular ride, then she is good to go. Also, there's no need to include her in Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases. By the way, my older son's first rollercoaster was The Barnstormer, and he loved it! I think that this is the perfect introduction to rollercoasters (although my younger son cried during his first ride--eek!).

If you find that either your little one is indeed too short to ride or has a change of heart, but you still want to ride an attraction like Seven Dwarves Mine Train, use Rider Switch. This service works well for families who don't mind splitting up and taking turns when riding those more intense attractions. Just talk to a Cast Member near a ride's entrance, and they will get you all set up using your MagicBands+, mobile device, or physical theme park tickets. You can find a list of all of the height requirements for the theme parks and water parks here.

AN EXTRA GEM: What I really loved about taking my boys to the parks when they were younger is that little ones under the age of 3 also can eat for free at all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants like Roundup Rodeo BBQ and The Crystal Palace. But you'll still want to include her in the party count when making an advance dining reservation.

Check out the included video where my friend Leslie and I share all of our tips for enjoying attractions with little ones. And if you have any other Disney vacation planning questions, Eileen, please revisit us here at planDisney! I hope that you all have the BEST vacation!

    Magic always,
