Hi Kathy!
Ahoy and a great big welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to SEA that you are headed out on an adventure with Captain Mickey! Disney Cruise Line makes
traveling with littles a snap because there is so much onboard that will fascinate and delight children.
One of the biggest reasons my family continues to choose Disney Cruise Line is the Youth Clubs. Our kiddos have always loved them for their great youth counselors, fun activities, and truly entertaining spaces. As they have graduated from the younger clubs to Edge and Vibe, they still see the
Youth Clubs as their way to have fun, make new friends, and gain much needed independence.
Disney Cruise Line does expect Mouseketeers that stay in the
Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab be at least three years old AND fully potty-trained. Your child would still be able to visit and play during the Open House hours, but not during the secured programming. Perhaps it would make a good incentive for potty training to show photos or videos of the space to your little pirate!
If they are 3 years old but not confidently potty-trained, then they can still visit the
“it’s a small world” nursery! giving you some time to explore the ship or schedule a grown-ups dinner at
Palo (on all four ships) or
Remy (on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy).
Your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will also be helpful with planning some magical fun for your little one. Some of those most memorable moments on a Disney cruise come from seeing their eyes light up when they see their favorite
characters or watching them burst into smiles while splashing in the
pools.
Kathy, cruise back by if you have any additional questions before you set sail. I hope your crew enjoys making memories on your upcoming voyage!
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
