Hi Jared.
This is a super idea but Guests close to the height requirements are measured at each
attraction where required. In many cases, they are measured twice; once at the queue entry and then again later on in the queue.
While we had a few heartbreaking moments when we weren't quite tall enough, our first trip on
The Barnstormer (35in (89cm) or taller) was magical! From there, we kept track of our kiddos' heights until the epic day when they were cleared for
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (48in (122cm) or taller). We celebrated in between as they grew another inch. In fact, their growth charts at our home also have a corresponding
Walt Disney World Resort attraction on key heights.
I know this sounds silly, but be sure your kiddo is standing up straight and tall when measured. My son almost lost out on his first orbit around the Earth on
Mission: SPACE because he was slouching (clearly a mom fail (he always needs to stand up straight) but that's a story for another day). I fully understand and appreciate that the height requirements are for safety. When my kiddos were so excited about an attraction, but weren't quite tall enough, we quickly moved to the next attraction and redirected back into magic and pixie-dust.
Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let me know if you need any other information as you plan your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
