My child has an egg allergy, I was wondering if some of the iconic snacks/foods are egg free. Such as Mickey waffles, Mickey pretzels, Dole wipe.

Hiya, Michelle! Welcome to planDinsey. I'm glad you stopped by as you plan your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Last summer, I went on a girls' weekend trip with my niece. She's vegan, so I learned a lot about Disney's plant-based offerings. I know being vegan is not the same as having an egg allergy, but it can give you a sense of egg-free menu items.

One indisputable fact: food tastes better when it's Mickey-shaped. We stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and were thrilled to discover that Boma - Flavors of Africa had Plant-Based Mickey-Shaped Waffles. I have seen these at other resorts as well. You can also find them on the breakfast menus at many restaurants in the theme parks.

One of the most iconic Disney moments is enjoying a DOLE Whip from Aloha Isle while sitting on a shaded bench and watching the camel by The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Be careful! The camel spits! I didn't have to look up information on this tasty perfection for our girls' trip because my niece had done her research. DOLE Whip is vegan and gluten and dairy-free, making it a delightful treat for many people with dietary restrictions. The classic pineapple and many other fruit flavors are available to appeal to many different tastes.

My other favorite is the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. You know I believe — know — everything tastes better when our favorite mouse inspired it. This ice cream treat is egg-free. Hot dog! Hot dog! Hot diggity dog!

Menu items and source ingredients can change, so you should always ask a Cast Member when ordering food to be sure.

When you make Advanced Dining Reservations for table service restaurants, you can indicate that your child has an egg allergy. There is an option to “Add a Special Dietary or Accessibility Request.” In my experience, they verify and ask again when you check in at the restaurant, and your server will do the same. If not, just let your server know. They take food allergies seriously and will do their best to accommodate your needs.

Disney has a few resources that can help you plan and navigate the parks. The Plant-Based Cuisine Options at Walt Disney World Resort was so helpful for my niece. You may also find the Allergy-Friendly and Special Dietary Requests site has good information to help you plan.

    Happy Snacking!
