My child is 2 during our upcoming trip. Does she need a magic band or will that be confusing for cast members?

Hello Katlyn, and welcome back to planDisney! I see you'll be visiting in March. What a perfect time to experience Walt Disney World Resort. How exciting that you're bringing your two-year-old! I absolutely loved taking my boys when they were toddlers. There's nothing like seeing the magic come to life in their eyes.

When my kids were that age, we didn’t worry about MagicBands since children three and under get free entry to Walt Disney World theme parks. They don't need to be scanned for theme park entry or Lightning Lane passes. While my little ones loved to scan in for us, we did end up misplacing a MagicBand or two along the way, which wasn't ideal.

One of my favorite perks of visiting with a two-year-old is that kids ages three and under eat for free at any buffet or family-style meal. With big eaters like mine, that was a huge value for us! Just make sure to add your little one to your dining reservation so the restaurant has an accurate count and enough space for everyone in your party.

I highly recommend catching the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. My boys loved waving at the characters and marveling at the magical details on every float.

Katlyn, I hope this helps, and thank you again for trusting us here at planDisney. Hope to hear from you soon!

    Your personal planning companion,
