I have a child with a disability. She has both CP and Angelman's synd. Lines are exhausting and can lead to emotional outbursts. We would like to visit 2 parks in February. Should I register for DAS before buying tickets/Genie passes?

    Hi Gregory,

    Welcome to planDisney!

The good news is that we have support for your princess! I definitely would encourage you to review all of the Services for Guests with Disabilities and pre-register for the Disability Access Service (DAS) before purchasing Disney Genie+ service. The Disability Access Service (DAS) is intended to accommodate Guests who cannot tolerate extended wait time in line. We pre-registered for DAS on our most recent trip. Although it took several hours to complete the pre-registration process via live chat, the Cast Members were AMAZING and I am so grateful that we were able to use this service. It made our time in the parks much more manageable.

If you are able to pre-register for DAS, I suggest that you also review the select experiences that you may be able to choose in advance of your trip. Prior to registering, go ahead and link your theme park tickets in your My Disney Experience account and make Disney Park Pass system reservations. Once we pre-registered, we were connected with a Cast Member who allowed us to register for two experiences per day in advance. Although not all of the attractions we wanted were available when we we pre-registered, we did register for several. While in the parks, we could then use the DAS feature in the My Disney Experience Mobile App to select one additional attraction. Once we had scanned in for that "day-of" attraction, we could select another one in the mobile app.

With our pre-selected rides and adding one attraction at a time while in the parks, our time in the parks was quite good. No meltdowns! We did use Disney Genie+ one day we were in Magic Kingdom, but on the other days, the DAS alone worked well for our steady pace.

Gregory, we fell in love with the Walt Disney World Resort when we brought our girls on their first trip when they were 5-years old. Now, they are just as much Jedi as they are princesses. We have been touched by all of the ways Cast Members have helped us navigate the parks and resorts. As you do your best to make this trip extra special, I hope you are able to see the fireworks spectacular at Magic Kingdom, Disney Enchantment. It captures what makes Disney so special, all of the families like yours who are the magic.

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
