Hear ye! Hear ye! Jill, I am so happy to welcome you to planDisney. I am also glad you came to planDisney with this question about dietary accommodations at one of my family's favorite restaurants,
Liberty Tree Tavern. When we hear them call our name to be seated, we are ready for a colonial American feast.
Having been to Walt Disney World Resort and aboard Disney Cruise Line with a family member with food allergies, I have a great appreciation for how Disney works with Guests to ensure they not only have something safe to eat but also that their experience is just as tasty and magical as everyone else's.
The menus available online now include information on many common allergies, making it easier to plan before you even arrive. When you check into the restaurant in person or on the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you will be asked to provide any food allergies. There are special menus they will give you for your child's food allergy. In my experience, you will be asked again by your server. This is really helpful as these Cast Members usually know specifics about the items on the menu or they will ask the chef to be sure of ingredients and any accommodations they can make.
For your question about the
table service menu at Liberty Tree Tavern, your meal is served family-style. But like any big family meal, it is all about options. Your server will bring the food to your table with your child's allergies in mind. For instance, the House-Made Macaroni & Cheese is usually served in a side dish. Your server will likely let you know this item contains dairy.
For desserts, it looks like Johnny Appleseed's Warm Apple Cake, Seasonal Sorbet and Allergy-Friendly Cookies are delicious choices for Guests with a milk allergy. I would certainly rely on the advice of your server when you dine, but the menu online now looks delightful. You can still order the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake for the rest of the table. We love this so much that one server suggested bringing us a second. Although I usually believe you don't have to be hungry to enjoy dessert, we were way too full to even think about it.
I hope this is helpful information, Jill. If you have any other questions as you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort or any Disney destination, you have a friend in
planDisney.
