My child is coming to WDW in March for a school trip. I read that she can use her Disney gift cards for food purchases, but that some vendors don't accept them. Where can I get a list of those vendors?

Greetings, Anita! I hope your daughter enjoys her school trip with her classmates. I vividly remember my high school physics trip, riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for observation and gravity testing.  It was an awesome ride!

I’m glad you are sending her with Disney gift cards, it’s a great way to purchase things all across Walt Disney World Resort. While there isn’t a firm list of vendors that do or do not accept Disney gift cards, I’m happy to report more often than not, she’ll be able to purchase her meals with them.  You can find some information on where to spend Disney gift cards on their site. Your daughter can purchase meals and items at Disney owned and operated merchandise, dining and recreation locations where credit cards are currently accepted.

If she is staying on property (my favorite way to fully immerse myself in the magic), she can use her complimentary MagicBand to purchase items at Disney locations and then the night before she checks out, she can step down to the hotel desk and pay for her folio balance using her Disney gift cards. It’s a great way to control your spending by pre-determining your cash flow.

When in doubt, your daughter can always ask the vendor if they accept Disney gift cards, or visit with a concierge for more help. Vendor lists can change without notice. I hope she has a magical visit! ~Lindsey
