Can a child buy something with their Magic Band without a parent consenting? :)

    Amy:

The only way your child can purchase something with his/her MagicBand is if you have allowed charging privileges on the MagicBand. It is the same process that Disney has used in the past with the Key to the World cards. You as the parent or paying entity decide who in your party receives charging privileges.

My boys are teenagers, and I didn't allow charging privileges on their MagicBands a few weeks ago. It's not that I didn't trust them, and since the bands work like a watch, the possibility of them falling off was not an issue. But could they have left them in the room or somewhere? Yes. Things happen, and I'm simply in the habit of me and my husband being the only ones with charging privileges, just like the fact that we are the only ones that hold our family's credit cards. It's worked in the past and worked well for us again last month. I appreciate Disney giving me the option to choose.

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel! Let me know if you have any more questions about the new MagicBand!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
