Is Chef Mickey's worth the money for breakfast with the characters? Also how long should we plan on spending there to eat if I decide to book a reservation?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Christina ~

We're so glad you're hEAR! My family loves character meals and Chef Mickey's is one of our favorites. My boys love watching the monorails come through the Contemporary Hotel while we're eating.

The cost of character meals can sometimes (not always) be a little higher than other dining locations.  It costs more because you are also paying for the experience and convenience.  I love being able to enjoy a great meal while waiting for the characters come to our table instead of waiting in a line to see a character.  At Chef Mickey's you typically get to see all of the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald) so it saves you a lot of time not having to wait in multiple lines.  I love the one-on-one attention you get too.  They will pose for multiple pictures and sign autographs.  I am not a huge eater, but big eaters can usually get their money's worth on the buffet alone.  So many yummy options!

Breakfast is the least expensive meal at Chef Mickey's so if you can work it into your schedule, that is what I'd aim for when making my reservations.

I usually allow around 1 1/2 hours for character meals in our schedule. That way we don't feel rushed and can enjoy the experience.

Please feel free to visit with all of your planning questions.  We're thrilled to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
