Hi Missy!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As the mom to a little one with multiple food allergies, I know how challenging it can be to accommodate food allergies away from home, especially in a buffet setting.
Chef Mickey's is one of my family's favorite character experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. We have always had great experiences with the Chefs and Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort accommodating my son's
Special Dietary Requests. While things are always subject to change, based on the standard
Chef Mickey's dinner menu, there is shrimp served on the buffet.
You can elect to have still enjoy the restaurant knowing there is shellfish present in the restaurant, and request that your son's meal be prepared separately to accommodate his allergy. With my son's allergies, he could not safely eat any food off of the buffet at Chef Mickey's either. You will need to note the allergy on your reservation either online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. When you get to the restaurant, be sure your hostess and server are both aware of his allergy and the Chef will come to your table to speak with you about your son's meal. When my son couldn't safely eat off of the buffet, Chef Matt asked my son exactly what he would like to eat for dinner, prepared anything he asked for, made sure he had plenty to eat and seconds of anything he wanted and even prepared a HUGE, yummy dessert for him (complete with a hidden Mickey), which can sometime be incredibly difficult with his allergy combination!
T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
