Hello and welcome to planDisney, Jayson!
Thank you for sharing a great question with us. I am happy to hear you will soon visit the Walt Disney World Resort and that you have already made magical dining reservations!
I am a big fan of
character dining and always make at least one reservation for a meal with Disney friends. I think this is the best way to interact with characters because you do not have to wait in line, they come to your table and spend quality time with your party, and you can enjoy delicious food and beverages in a beautiful location. It does not get any better than this!
Chef Mickey’s is such a great character dining destination! The restaurant is inside iconic
Disney’s Contemporary Resort, so you do not need theme park tickets to dine there. I believe character dining is the perfect activity for those days you do not plan to visit the parks, but if you happen to be enjoying your day at Magic Kingdom Park, you can exit the park and either walk or take the monorail to the hotel. After your meal, you can return to the park to enjoy the rest of your day.
Do not worry about your reservation time. Cast Members will ensure all characters stop by your table to say hello and take pictures – remember to bring your autograph book! If possible, I usually make breakfast reservations after 11:00 am, so it feels like we are having brunch or lunch. The last time I booked character breakfast was at
Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, and we had plenty of time to interact with the characters.
I hope this helps you while planning, Jayson. Come back to visit us for more tips and advice, and have a pixie-dusted visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
