Hi there, Tracy! Thanks for your question.
I don't think my grandkids would ever speak to me again if a
Walt Disney World vacation didn't include a meal at Chef Mickey's at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. We were able to snag two
reservations at
Chef Mickey's on our last trip together, and my grandson still wanted to know when we were going back to eat with his friends.
If you've done Chef Mickey's before, you know that it has traditionally been a buffet meal. The meal right now is served family-style. All three of my grandchildren were brought separate plates in addition to the family meal, and those plates included kid favorites such as chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, tater tots, corn dog nuggets, and broccoli. My two-year-old granddaughter was actually offered a second helping of mac and cheese since she finished her portion in record time, but my three-year-old grandson loved almost everything on the family-style platters. Kids can have both without a problem. Oh, I almost forgot - the kids also got an appetizer of ranch dressing and dippable veggies.
Dessert is also served family-style, and the kids are given chocolate chip cookies. If my grandkids are any indication, you can wrap those for later and ask for extra servings of the strawberry cake. It was a huge hit with my gang.
I hope this helps, Tracy. I don't know if or when the meal will switch back to a buffet meal, but rest assured that there are kid-friendly options in addition to the family-style platters.
