Hi! We have Chef Mickey reservations, but what is the grace period to arrive? Fireworks don’t start until 9 (in March) & our dinner reservation is at 9:25. We want to see the fireworks & then walk to the reservation. Is there a 15 min grace period?

Hiya, Kelly! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Thank you so much for bringing us your question.

I absolutely LOVE Chef Mickey's, because the overall ambiance is amazing! There's something very special about the Monorail passing through Disney's Contemporary Resort every couple of minutes, and it's always wonderful to see Mickey and friends... especially when they're wearing their chef outfits!

Kelly, in my own experience, Disney's grace period regarding advanced dining reservations is right around the 15 minute mark. In fact, I have been known to walk up to the Cast Members at the host stand exactly 15 minutes after my set reservation time, and they have always been able to take my party and I straight to our table. That being said, I would suggest that you call the restaurant at (407) 939-5277 in advance so that they're made aware that you might be a little bit late to your reservation. A few years ago, I had a reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant, but my dad and I were still in line for Space Mountain. I called the restaurant about five minutes before my reservation and let them know I'd be a little bit late, and they said it wouldn't be a problem.

On that note, I would like to remind you that Disney Enchantment is about 16 minutes long, and walking out of Magic Kingdom Park right after the show can sometimes take a little bit longer than expected. You definitely might make it to Chef Mickey's on time if you rush out of the park, but I would suggest against doing that. Instead, I encourage you and your party to watch the fireworks spectacular right from the Contemporary Resort! You'll have a wonderful view of the fireworks and some of the projections on Cinderella Castle, and the music will be playing on the speakers at the Resort. I have done this many times in the past, and it's a very different and wonderful experience!

Kelly, I hope you enjoy your meal at Chef Mickey's, and please take some tissues for when you're watching Disney Enchantment! It's a tear-jerker for sure.

    See you real soon,
