I have a chef Mickey reservation at 7am (my kids are early risers) but parks do not open until 9am according to the app. How will we get from our resort to the contemporary resort to eat without buses or monorail running yet?

    Hi Kaitlyn!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

One of the best ways to meet the Disney characters is by enjoying some Character Dining!  You will meet Chef Mickey himself, who will visit your table, and you will have lots of opportunity for photos and interaction.  You may also meet Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald.  I have enjoyed this event many times with my family - it is so much fun.  You will also see one of the coolest sights at Walt Disney World Resort - the monorail going straight through the middle of Disney's Contemporary Resort!  If you wish to spend the rest of your day at the Magic Kingdom Park, this is just a short walk away, or you could enjoy the monorail loop around Seven Seas Lagoon, which will be running by the time you have finished your breakfast.  As your reservation is so early, you are correct that the buses and monorail will not be running at that time.  Buses usually begin operating around 45 minutes prior to the earliest park opening times, and monorails begin around 30 minutes beforehand.   For convenience, you might like to consider using the Minnie Van Service. They are driven by Walt Disney World Cast Members and can accommodate up to 6 Guests. This would also be such a fun way to start your day! You can make your booking on the Lyft app, which will also show you the cost of this service. Alternatively, you could stop by the front desk of your resort hotel, and ask them to hail you a taxi cab. Please allow some extra time for this, as there may not be a taxi readily waiting at the resort.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation.
