It sounds like you’re planning a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth for early next year. In my opinion, this is a great time of year to travel to
Walt Disney World Resort. It’s a sweet spot between the holiday season and the height of spring break season. Plus, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is usually on at that time, which is definitely worth experiencing!
To answer your question, Nicole, we don’t yet have the event calendar for the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for 2027. The current event calendar stretches out to September 2026. With that said, I can confirm that there have been dance and cheer competitions in late January and February in previous years. Therefore, it’s entirely possible that this could be the case again in 2027.
In my personal experience, this can have either a big impact or very little impact on your vacation. If you have someone in your family who is competing, it can add an extra layer of excitement to your visit. If you are looking ahead hoping to avoid it, personally I have never found it to disrupt my vacation plans in any significant way. I have visited Walt Disney World during sporting events in the past, and I haven’t noticed any change in the overall atmosphere, which is consistently magical!

Events page of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex website periodically. Future events will be posted here as they are confirmed.

The weather is generally mild, and the offerings at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts are so much fun. My personal favorite is snacking my way around the World Showcase at the various Food Studios and completing the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. There are always beautiful and delicious eats and sips to choose from!
