if our checkout time is 11, is there a place where we can leave our bags so we can explore downtown Disney while we wait to leave for the airport? We are looking at booking a flight at 6PM and would need a place to hang out before we head to the airport

Hello, Sarah, and welcome to planDisney. It is so exciting that you have started the planning process of a Walt Disney World vacation. It will be here before you know it!

Sarah, I think you'll be happy to know that you are able to store your luggage with bell services the day you check out until it is time to go home. In the morning, you have two options. You can call down to Bell Services and a Cast Member will be happy to head up to your room and pick up your luggage for you and take it to the storage room. If you'd rather carry it down yourself, a Bell Services counter will be outside of the resort lobby and you can drop them off there. Either way, a Cast Member helping you will count the number of pieces that you have and give you a small ticket receipt to hold on to. When you return and want to collect your things, you'll need this receipt to show them.

Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is such a fun place to hang out and explore. It's perfect for your last day at Walt Disney World as it is the shopping, dining and entertainment hub of Walt Disney World. Honestly, during my vacations, you can find me hanging out there in the evenings enjoying a great meal and live music.  If you are looking for a dining suggestion for one last great meal, I highly encourage you to check out The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. This is my current go-to favorite restaurant. It's set right on the lake at Disney Springs and provides stunning views throughout the day.  The menu is pretty big and has offerings that please even the pickiest of eaters. My favorite menu item is the lobster roll, served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. It is awesome! After your meal, if you are feeling up to it, I always suggest the key lime pie in a jar because it is fabulous. It's light and tart and oh, so delicious!

Sarah, it sounds to me that you've got a great last day planned during your Walt Disney World vacation. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
