On check-out day, what is the procedure for checking out of the resort room? Do I just leave? Am I supposed to call the front desk? Something else? Thanks!

    Hi Shelly,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Check-out day is always bittersweet, but hopefully you won’t be saying goodbye, just “see ya real soon!”

My family always leaves a credit card on file, which means we can utilize Walt Disney World Resort’s Express Check-Out procedure. An itemized bill will be delivered to your resort room, and as long as it looks good to you, you don’t need to stop by the front desk – just pack up your luggage and head out. You’re always welcome to visit the front desk if you have any questions at all, of course. Since my family usually drives, we like the ability to get up in the very early hours, pack up, and head out without making any stops. If you don’t leave a credit card on file, you will need to stop by the front desk to clear your charges as part of the check-out process.

Shelly, if you have time in the morning, I like doing something fun on check-out day to take the sting out of saying goodbye to my happy place. Whether it’s a character meal, a quiet walk around your resort, or one last quick service plate full of Mickey waffles, it’s a nice way to put a polka-dotted bow on your magical vacation. My family always purchases a magnet from our resort hotel; we have a collection on our refrigerator to remind us of “home.”

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
