We will be checking in at WDW in 21 days! I have read lots of posts that insist following a touring plan is a must. Do I need these during the off season? The middle of October should be a fairly slow time, right? I hate to plan to death but I hate lines!

    Hi Melissa!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  You are visiting during a relatively quiet time at Walt Disney World.  While I am a huge fan of following a touring plan, especially those produced by the independent website TouringPlans.com, I don't think they are absolutely necessary in the middle of October.  If you arrive at the parks early before they open (about 30 minutes) you should be okay given the time of year you are going.  If you are concerned, you can use a plan for the first couple of steps and then abandon it after that; that usually does a great job in getting you through some of the typical bottlenecks.

The only other advice I have is that you should try to avoid Epcot on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October.  That's because Epcot holds the International Food and Wine Festival from the end of September to early November and that is a popular event with locals.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
