Hi, We are checking in to the Riviera this weekend and I wanted to know are there bedrails for the murphy bed where we plan to sleep a small child and a toddler? Also, does the coffee maker use k-cups?

Hey Howdy Hey Lisa and welcome to planDisney!

Disney's Rivera Resort is amazing! The resort itself is beautiful, the dining options are top notch and transportation to and from the resort is so unique, which are just a few reasons that this resort is one of my family's top resorts. Thank you for stopping by with your questions on kids sleeping safely in the room and coffee maker specifics. I will be happy to give you more information on both.

The murphy bed that you will have access to in your room is set a bit lower than the standard bed however it comes with no bedrails. There are, however, plenty of pillows and blankets in the room you can use. When our girls were younger, we would roll up blankets or pillows under the fitted sheet to keep them on the bed. There were also several cushions we used to put on the floor just in case something were to happen they would have a soft landing. Thankfully they did not have to use the cushions on the floor for anything other than playing!

If you do feel the need, Disney does offer complimentary cribs and playpens for little ones. This may be an option for you depending on where your little ones feel comfortable sleeping at home. You can request these during your check-in process. These are complimentary and are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cast Members do their best to fulfill all requests but supplies may be limited.

One necessity for many parents in the rooms are coffee makers. While there is some variation to them, typically the Deluxe Studios come with a drip-style coffee maker. The 1-bedroom and above may have either the drip or a Keurig-style coffee maker. Either way, you will find a coffee maker in your room which can come in handy first thing in the morning or during nap time!

If you all do enjoy coffee and tasty treats, you might want to head over to Le Petit Cafe at some point during your stay. This Parisian-style cafe has amazing drinks and mouth-watering pastries which are all phenomenal. Pair them with a stroll around the resort, a brief sit-down in the library next door or take to your room to enjoy during nap time is a great way to spend the afternoon.

I hope this information helped get your expectations set for your upcoming trip. You are going to love the Riviera resort! If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,

    Nick
