Hi there! I am just checking to see what qualifies as proof or residency? Would an apartment lease agreement or utility bill work? I have a CA DL but my brother moves to CA mid June and doesn't have a DMV appointment until July. Thanks!

    Hi Dana,

Thanks so much for coming to see us here at planDisney!

I so appreciate that you're asking about what you and your brother as Guests can bring to show proof of California residency when you visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks. At the time that I'm writing this reply, the Disneyland Resort theme parks are currently open to California residents only. You might have seen the Disney Parks Blog reminder that Guests should be sure to bring proof of California residency.

Ideally, Guests who are California residents could show proof of residency with their state-issued photo ID that displays their California residential address. I think it could be helpful if your brother has another document that displays his name (as it matches his photo ID) and his California residential address. Perhaps he will have a bank statement or a lease agreement or a utility bill -- a document that clearly shows proof of his California residential address.

Dana, as you make your plans, be sure to make your theme park reservations to visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park through the Theme Park Reservations system.

Here's wishing you a fun and wonderful visit to enjoy all the magic of the theme parks!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
