Hi! Checking in on 12/17 at POR in the evening. First trip at Christmas with 5 adults and 5 kids (6 & under). Not hitting a park that night. Any specific hotel or area to view decorations. Thought about heading close to MK to view fireworks at MV

    Amy:

I'd recommend going to the Grand Floridian Resort to explore its Giant Gingerbread House and then on to its beach area to view the fireworks over at the Magic Kingdom. Here's a time-lapse video of its assembly last year (it's the same this year).  The life-size house is a feat.

If you've driven your car down from Tennessee, you can valet or self-park at the Grand Floridian. Or if you need Disney transportation, take the Magic Kingdom bus from Port Orleans to the Magic Kingdom and then hop on the monorail. If you take the monorail, consider stopping first at The Contemporary Resort for a look at its Gingerbread Tree on the level just below the monorail.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
