Hello! We are checking in Easter Sunday march 31st. It also happens to be my birthday. How can we make reservations for Napa Rose? We are staying at the grand and have not been successful in booking it via app or phone.

Hi Cammie! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

You're almost set for the most magical trip. Having just returned from our vacation at Disneyland Resort, where we also stayed at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, I can attest that you're going to have the best time. And happy birthday! We were celebrating a birthday too: It makes everything a little more special. When you're checking in with the Cast Member at the front desk, be sure to let them know you're celebrating. They'll give you a Celebration Button you can wear. You never know what magic will happen with your button on even if it's lots of well wishes for your special day.

Easter is a popular day and reservation availability is not guaranteed, including for Guests of the hotel. It might be difficult to secure a spot to dine at this late date at many spots within Disneyland Resort. I'm sorry if that's not the news you were hoping for!

I do have some suggestions. First, if you're a bigger party, try searching for a couple of smaller tables. You can request to be seated as close together as possible when you check in with the Cast Member at the podium and they'll do their best to accommodate you. Second, keep checking! We initially weren't able to secure a dining reservation at Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, but it topped our list and with some persistence, I was able to nab a spot. When people's plans change, so does availability. Even a last-minute cancelation could work in your favor, so don't stop checking availability.

Finally, try to be flexible. There are other great fine dining locations in Disneyland Resort, and if you widen your search, you might have better luck grabbing a reservation. Try one of the other spots at the hotel or in the parks. I'd suggest Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure on Buena Vista Street as a great alternative for fine dining if you have an admission ticket and theme park reservation for the day. We enjoyed a delicious dinner there on our trip with beautiful service. Some dining locations offer a "Walk-Up List" which you can possibly join the day of if no reservations are available. Look for them on the map on the Disneyland mobile app.

We even loved our In-Room Dining experiences at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa after a long park day, and there are some really yummy Quick Service options to try too. I hope you find the perfect Easter meal for your group.

    Have a magical day!
