We are checking out of our disney hotel in the morning (after a 5 night stay), but still going to the halloween party later that night. Will we have to pay for parking at magic kingdom for the event or will it still be free?

    Hi Lauren,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question about parking at the Walt Disney World theme parks.

I see that you have discovered that free parking at the theme parks is just one of the Magical benefits of staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel!  Staying for 5 nights is a great vacation plan and topping it off with attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be an epic treat for your family.  My family once did a similar thing and ended our last vacation night by attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.  It was the highlight of our trip, and we even used a photo taken that night for our family's Christmas cards.

You will be happy to know that your benefits of being a Disney Resort Collection hotel Guest continue through midnight on the day you checkout.  Although you won't turn into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight, you will no longer have the free parking benefits after that time.  Since you will be parking well before midnight in order to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party you will not need to pay for parking on the day you check out if you visit any of the theme parks.

If you haven't attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party before, I have a few tips to help you maximize your fun.  I recommend looking at the event guide in your My Disney Experience App ahead of time so you can plan out your activities.  The second tip I have is to attend the second performance of Mickey's "Boo-To-You" Halloween Parade as it will be much less crowded than the first.  I always like to do some rides or visit special characters during the first performance since so many people will be attending the parade.

Have a Magical vacation!  Please let us know if you have any more vacation planning questions.  We are always excited to help you plan your next Magical adventure.

    Boo-To-You!
