I am checking into bus tickets as an alternative to plane tickets. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how close the nearest bus station is to WDW.

Hi, Amanda!  When I lived in Orlando, my sister used to use the Greyhound bus to come and visit me, so I got pretty familiar with the stations.  There is one in downtown Orlando, and it has recently been upgraded to include a very nice food court.  That's nice if you are going to be leaving from there to head home and have to wait for your bus.  This station is further from Disney, and a cab ride from here is going to cost you about $45, plus tip, depending on where you are staying.

The other station is in Kissimmee, and it's a little bit closer to the Walt Disney World resorts.  A cab from here will run almost $40, maybe a little bit less.

When considering whether or not to take the bus, factor in the cost of the taxi to the resort.  If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort and flying in, you can use the complimentary Magical Express transportation to and from the airport.  Also consider your time.  The bus is going to take WAY longer than a flight from anywhere. Have fun and enjoy your trip!
