    We are checking into AK Lodge on Sat., but arriving in Orlando on Friday. What is the closest off site hotel to AK Lodge? We want to get from the hotel to the Lodge to check in as early as possible, so we can then hurry over to the parks. Thanks a bunch

    How exciting!! We usually stay at the Silver Lake Resort when we have reservations at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It's an older hotel but has one and two bedroom villas.  We like the close proximity its off of Black Lake Rd., Kissimmee.  There is also a Best Western near by as well.  I believe Silver Lake is the closest to Animal Kingdom about 2.5 miles away.  It takes about 5 minutes to drive to Animal Kingdom Lodge from the Resort.  It's a great stop over place.  The resort is a no frills resort but it is clean and close.  We also have stayed at the Hilton across from Downtown Disney but that is about a 15 minute drive to Animal Kingdom.  Have a fabulous trip!!!
