If you check-in online, do you still get luggage tags from Disney or do you provide your own? Also do you need to include your stateroom number on the tag(s) and the number of pieces of luggage, i.e. 1 of 3?

    Ahoy there J -

Preparing for a voyage with Disney Cruise Line is all part of the journey. Disney has an awesome way of  adding those special touches that just keeps guests even more excited with each passing day. The countdown to your cruise will be a lot of fun. Every guest can expect magical mail as their trip approaches. Your cruise documents will be sent to you in Disney signature packaging that just makes you want to go through each and every page. It is also nicely customized just for your family. The cruise packet will include your customized luggage tags. Each guest will have 2 luggage tags pre-printed with the stateroom number, reservation number and name. These are long colored luggage tags, similar to the ones that you get when you check-in/drop off baggage for your flight at the airport.  You'll need to attach 1 luggage tag to each bag that you check-in. This allows the magical baggage handlers to efficiently deliver your luggage to your stateroom on embarkation afternoon.

On the last night of your cruise, you'll also get a new set of luggage tags onboard, accompanied with your disembarkation instructions. Your stateroom host/hostess will deliver these to your stateroom during turn down service that evening. You'll first need to tear off the old luggage tags from your bags, so that it does not confuse the baggage handlers. They're very efficient, so you want to make sure that your bags get off the ship with you, as they efficiently got on the ship too. The disembarkation luggage tags will be smaller and it will have a Disney character on it -- just to let you know which section to pick up your bags at, back at the Port's baggage claim area. You'll need to count the bags then, ie: 1 of 3.

If you have a smart phone, I suggest downloading the Disney Cruise Line App now. The countdown will be active, but the rest of the app will get activated once you are onboard. Check it out.
