Hey howdy hey, Aimee!
Thanks for coming back to planDisney with a great planning question for your upcoming vacation to the
Walt Disney World Resort! A stay in
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort sounds like the perfect springtime escape. This property and the beautifully appointed cabins are such a peaceful oasis after a busy theme park day, you’re going to love it! I understand wanting to know what to expect upon arrival and logistics of your luggage, so I’m happy to help.
The Mears Connect bus will drop you off at the Reception Outpost, a welcome area at the front entrance of Fort Wilderness. This resort is spread out over wooded land and fields for a truly immersive experience, so they also offer internal bus service to navigate your way around the property. You will find these buses are frequently available within 10-20 minutes throughout the day. Upon arrival, you’ll be directed to the best route for your specific cabin location and be given a resort map. The internal buses will pick you up right next to the Reception Outpost, at the Outpost Depot.
If your cabin isn’t quite ready or you have other adventures planned for arrival day, Fort Wilderness offers
Bell Services. This friendly team can hold your luggage while you explore or head out to a theme park before getting settled in your cabin. If you’re looking at the map at the bottom of
this page, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a part of the Magic Kingdom Resort area.
Given its proximity to
Magic Kingdom Park, you can also take my favorite Disney transportation, a boat, over to the beautiful Magic Kingdom area from the Fort Wilderness Settlement. This relaxing ride across Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon is what vacation dreams are made of!
Please come back and see us with any additional questions you have as you finalize your vacation plans, Aimee.
You’ve got a friend in me!
