Hi! I just checked in at the stroke of midnight (like Cinderella) for our cruise. How long does it take for DCL to approve uploaded passport and "headshot" images?

Ahoy there, Alexandra! Welcome aboard planDisney!

Well, if that's not a storybook beginning to the last part of your wait for your crew's sailing, I don't know what is! Hopefully, you managed to finish your Online Check-In without leaving a shoe behind!

When my crew sailed on the Disney Wish in September, we did the same thing and promptly checked in as soon as it was available. For us, that was September 7th, and we received an email with the subject line "Online Check-In Complete." In that email, the Disney Cruise Line crew made sure we knew that we'd hear back soon if they needed any additional information. It wasn't until 10 days later that we received another email with "Online Check-In Finalized!" So while it may seem a bit unnerving to cast off into the open ocean and not hear back from shore for a few weeks, it's not unheard of!

Here's a tip: now that you're checked in, be sure to put all of your important documents, luggage tags (if they've arrived yet), travel documentation, and Port Arrival Form in a folder, and put that folder into a bag you'll be keeping with you at all times on your trip. If for any reason you don't hear back about your check-in being finalized, having all of those items with you will make any rough seas you encounter when you arrive at the port easy to navigate!

I hope that helps you set a course for this last stretch before you cast off, Alexandra! Soon you'll be heading for the line where the sky meets the sea! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others, please drop me another line here at planDisney!

    Fair winds and following seas,

    Andrew
