Hi Jason!
Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels are a viable alternative when your dream Disney resort is not available. These local hotels offer transportation to the parks,
theme park tickets, are AAA approved, and meet Disney's standards for "comfort, quality, and service".
Good Neighbor spots are recommended by Disney, but they function independently; most are owned and operated by national hotel chains. Typically these businesses require at least a 24 hour cancellation notice and often have a policy that guests must cancel 2-5 days in advance. This could leave you vulnerable to a hefty fee or more if you check out a few days early to transfer to a
Walt Disney World Resort.
Of course, in the world of Disney we find real life, regular rules do not always apply. I would call your Good Neighbor Hotel directly and see if a manager would grant your wish of a last minute transfer.
Sending you pixie dust that you book your first choice resort!
