Hi Robert!
Welcome to planDisney!
I’m happy to report that you’re more than welcome to complete
online resort check-in months in advance. It’s February at the time of writing this answer, and I’m currently able to complete online check-in for my Disney World trip later this summer.
You can complete online check-in by logging onto
Disney World’s website or by using your
My Disney Experience app. As you go through the prompts, you may be able to add certain room requests. While requests aren’t guaranteed, I still find it’s worth making the requests in case they can be accommodated.
As your trip gets closer, I highly recommend checking out the Recreation tab on your resort’s page on the Disney World website. There, you can often find the Activities Schedule, so you’ll be able to jump into the fun right off the bat. You can leave your luggage with
Bell Services if your room isn't quite ready when you arrive.
Once your arrival day rolls around, you’ll be able to use your My Disney Experience app to
see your room number and
unlock your room door without stopping by the front desk if you've completed online check-in. I always like to stop by the front desk either way, though! It's nice to get the lay of the land and ask any questions I have if I've never stayed at the resort before.
I hope that helps! And I hope your vacation countdown flies by! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out to us at planDisney.
