Hi there, Amy!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with a question about one of my favorite summer topics: Disney Resort hotel swimming pools! While I'm partial to the
Calypso Pool (featuring The Three Caballeros) at Disney's All-Star Music and the
Lava Pool at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, there's nothing quite like cooling down in any of the incredibly themed pools throughout Walt Disney World Resort, so I completely understand wanting to dive right into the magic as soon as you arrive!
Happily, you are considered a Guest of your
Disney Resort hotel as soon as you arrive on the day you check in, so you're free to embrace the 'hakuna matata' of vacation and utilize the dining, recreation (including swimming pools!), and transportation available at your Resort hotel all day long!
If you arrive before your room is ready, you'll find that some Disney Resort hotels have bathrooms with changing areas near the pools. I suggest checking with a Cast Member upon arrival to see if this is the case at your hotel. If not, all hotel lobbies are equipped with restrooms that will work for your intended purpose, and a Cast Member will happily point you in the right direction. Once you've changed, feel free to stop by the Bell Services desk to drop off your luggage if your room is not yet ready. I've been known to arrive with my swimsuit in my carry-on so that I can drop off my bags as soon as I arrive and not worry about rolling my suitcase into a restroom.
An extra bit of planDisney pixie dust: Be sure to utilize Walt Disney World's
Online Check-In service as early as 60 days before you arrive. When you use this service, you will receive your Disney Resort hotel room number via text message as soon as your room is available. Just like magic!
I hope this was helpful, Amy! As always, feel free to
stop back by planDisney with any additional questions you may have. You've got a friend in us!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
