Welcome to planDisney, Julie. I'm happy to answer your question about one of my favorite things at the
Walt Disney World Resort:
dining! So let's get you your answer.
With both
dining plans, the
Disney Dining Plan and the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, the amount of meals and snacks you are given is tied to the number of nights you are staying at the resort,
not the number of tickets you have purchased. Since you are staying at your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel for 7 nights, each Guest registered in your room will be able to redeem 7 of their allotment for the dining plan chosen. If you want to think of it as days, you can think of it as 7 days of meals. However, just keep in mind that meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during your vacation and expire at midnight on the day you check out.
So, being a teacher, it's time to do a little math. But it's fun math like the math in
Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land. Okay, maybe not that abstract, but it's still fun nonetheless. If you purchased the
Disney Dining Plan (my favorite), each Guest is entitled to 1
Quick-Service Meal per night of stay, 1
Table-Service Meal per night of stay, and 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic drink per night of stay. So since you're staying 7 nights, each Guest registered in your room would be able to redeem 7 Quick-Service Meals, 7 Table-Service Meals, and 7 Snacks or Nonalcoholic drinks throughout their stay, up until midnight on August 7th. You can use them however you see fit. Don't want to redeem a Quick-Service meal on August 1st but want to do 2 Quick-Service meals on August 2nd? Go for it! Want to do 2 Table-Service meals in one day, you can. Plus, you also get a Resort-Refillable Drink Mug to use repeatedly at the refill stations at your hotel. One thing to note is that certain table-service restaurants will use 2 of your Table-Service meals, so just be sure to check the details when booking your
advanced dining reservations as this can usually be found on the restaurant's page.
See? That wasn't as complicated as the ratios, proportions, angles, and shapes in that mathematical land Donald had to go through, was it? Good! Now all you need to do is find out where you're going to eat. And
that's the really fun part! Be sure to follow along with
Disney Eats on the Disney Parks Blog for all things food-related. The only hazard to doing this is excess drool. But I won't judge!
