How do you check in for your flight home from cruise if you are taking private transportation to the airport?

    Hi Jennifer!

So happy to SEA you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! While I can't tell which Disney cruise you plan on experiencing, I CAN tell you are a planner like me. Getting all the details organized before my family sets sail with Captain Mickey is my JAM! If either Port Canaveral or Miami are your port of call, then you have a couple of options.

The general rule is that if you are using private transportation back to the airport, then you will be in charge of handling your airline check-in. If you want to do it in advance, it would entail logging onto your airline’s website using the Connect@Sea internet package you selected for your voyage or wait until arriving at the port to access Wifi from there. Or you can wait and check in with your airline when you get to the airport.

However, if you’d like to change to Disney Cruise Line ground transportation, you may qualify for Online Airline Check-in. Currently offered in Port Canaveral and Miami, this service allows Guests to check in their luggage for their return flight and receive their airline boarding passes before disembarking the ship.

Here are the steps: 1) Reserve ground transportation through Disney Cruise Line, then request to sign up for Onboard Airline Check-In when you check in at the cruise port; 2) a day prior to flying, your airline boarding passes and luggage tags will magically appear at your stateroom; 3) Attach the tags to your luggage and leave your bags outside your stateroom the night before, and your luggage will be whisked away to the appropriate airline. Straight to security line you go without the burden of bags, tags, or printing boarding passes! Guests must be flying select airlines to qualify, and scheduled flights must be on the day the cruise ends and after 11:25 a.m. for Port Canaveral cruises and 11:30 a.m. for Miami cruises.

Whatever method you choose, I hope it will be smooth sailing and turbulence-free! Chart a course for the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you'd like more help planning your adventure at sea.

    Happy Sailing!
