How can I check flexible date availability with the Disney resorts?

Hi Kathryn! Thanks for visiting us at planDisney. Planning a Disney vacation is like completing a puzzle: it's a fun challenge to arrange all the pieces just right, and in the end you have a beautiful picture! For me, choosing a Disney Resort hotel is like putting all the edge pieces together first, as it provides the structure that gets filled with all the dining, park visits, and activities to come. Choosing your vacation home away from home is an important decision, and I'm happy to help you figure out the availability for resorts if your travel dates are flexible.

One way to check availability is to choose some start and end dates you are considering and put them into the booking tool on the Disney World website. From there, you can sort the results by Disney's Picks or by price, and this can give you a good idea of availability. I did a sample search for a week in September and saw that there was pretty good availability for a variety of resorts in each of the Value, Moderate, and Deluxe categories. Also, I noticed there was an offer advertised at the top of my search results, so I typed in a new date range there and could see similar availability but with built in savings: score! You can check out the Special Offers to see if there is one that covers your planned travel window. Just remember, availability changes all the time, so what you see one day may be gone the next!

Another option is to call the Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number and speak with a friendly Cast Member. You can tell them when you are planning to travel and they may be able to assist you with availability questions.

Here are a few final tips for you:

    • Review the Hours & Events Calendar so you'll know the operating hours for each park and the performance schedules for can't-miss entertainment
    • Download the My Disney Experience app to review dining availability, purchase or link tickets, and set up your Family & Friends list
    • Check out the guides for travel to Disney World across the seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall, and the Holidays
Let us know how else we can be of assistance, Kathryn! I hope you'll find that perfect travel window so you can make lasting memories with your friends, family, and loved ones.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
