Hi, is there any way to check our child’s height at the start of the park day? I’m worried about booking an Individual Lightning Lane and then finding out she is too short when we get the queue. (If we did that would we be able to get a refund?)

    Hi Simon,

    Welcome to planDisney!

Your question brought back one of my favorite memories from our first visit to the Walt Disney World® Resort! Our girls were 5-years old. We checked their height prior to arrival and made plans accordingly, but when we went to board Soarin' Around the World a cast member called one of the girls over to check her height. We waited with a little anxiety. When he gave her the thumbs up sign to say she was good to go, she literally jumped up and down, she was so excited. We were relieved. If you have not yet done so, check your daughter's height before departure. You can view height requirements for each attraction online. When you arrive, head to the parks to check her height at an attraction.

I recommend that you wait before you purchase that Individual Lightning Lane Entry because it is non-refundable. If you can, plan your park visit days so that your first park day is a day that you do not plan to purchase Individual Lightning Lane Entry. If you can do this, then you would have some time to check her height when you arrive. Or, if that is not possible, you can get to the park as early as possible, check her height at an attraction, and then purchase that Individual Lightning Lane Entry. I realize that Individual Lightning Lane Entry for certain attractions may be limited or unavailable by the time you purchase, but I would hate for you to lose the money if your daughter is not tall enough for the attraction.

Simon, continue to make those plans! I understand the concern but I also believe in Disney magic. Since we are all excited about the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, I sent a wish to the Evening Star trusting that your little one will be tall enough and you will get that Individual Lightning Lane Entry purchased in time!

    Magic and memories,
