Disney Vacation Club - how exciting! It's a big decision, so I'm glad you're asking questions and doing your homework. You've got a friend in me, and I'll be happy to help with some information to shed a little light on the ins and outs of Membership costs.
We became very interested in joining DVC when we started taking regular family trips to
Walt Disney World when my girls were small. However, we took quite a bit of time to make sure it was the right choice (spoiler alert: it was!). As you think about how many
Vacation Points you want to purchase and which amazing Home Resort to choose, consider
how you want to vacation with DVC. If you're hoping to take an annual trip with extended family around the December holidays, that will require many more points than less-frequent visits with a smaller crew. The
Points Charts are a great place to start, as they show exactly how many points are needed for each resort, organized by season and type of accommodation.
Amber, the answer to your question depends on a few factors. This includes how many points you purchase, the Annual Dues at your Home Resort, and whether you finance your purchase or buy your Membership outright. It's important to consider that dues will be a regular occurrence for the life of your DVC contract, and they typically increase year to year. You can pay them in one lump sum, or in monthly installments, although the installment option is only available for direct debit from US bank accounts.
As an example, if you purchased 100 points at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the 2026 dues per point are $8.33, or $833 for the year. Again, if you finance the purchase, you will be making payments on that loan as well as the dues.
My best advice is to
set up some time with a DVC Cast Member for a virtual meeting, an on-demand webinar, or an in-person chat at a Disney location. These folks will be able to answer any questions you have and will also be up to speed on any special offers that may make your Membership dreams a reality!
