What are the cheaper times of the year to visit Disney World with a family of 4 adults and 3 kids aged 14,8,5?

    Hi Christine,

It's so wonderful that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your family, but absolutely understand your need to stretch those Disney Dollars.

Although Theme Park Tickets have the same price throughout the year, with the exception of Magic Kingdom 1-day tickets or a price increase, Disney Resort hotels rates do vary depending on the time of the year and day of the week. In general, the month of January has the lowest rates available, however there are certain weekends and events, such as Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, and Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, where prices are higher. Another low cost time of the year for you to consider, is the last weekend in August, and the month of September.

Although there is no official rate calendar, the folks at mousesavers.com have a comprehensive list of room rack rates for all Disney Resort hotels, and the corresponding seasons. Although the information presented is not official and may be inaccurate, it should give you an idea for planning purposes. One tip: keep an eye on the Special Offers page, and if you are flexible with your dates and Resort hotel preferences, you may be able to save on room rates, or even include a Disney Dining Plan for free.

    Happy planning!

    Ricardo.
