Hi Moms! Take the cheaper self catering option or stay in a hotel?? Can you tell me what time you'd usually get in at night with 2 youngish kids (5 and 8)? Is it realistic that we would leave at about 6 & come cook or am I kidding myself? Decisions!

Hi Heather Joy! You can have the best of both worlds if you stay at a Disney Deluxe Villa Resort for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. With a 1-bedroom villa you can bring your own groceries and cook all your meals and save a ton of money.

To really save money and stretch our vacation dollars I cook the majority of our meals in our villa. Since we drive to Walt Disney World Resort I can pack everything I need with us. If you're flying you can put a lot of your non-perishable groceries in checked luggage or ship a box directly to the resort ahead of your arrival.

The deluxe resort villas are part of Disney Vacation Club, but you don't have to be a member to book a reservation there. You'll have all the comforts of home away from home with all the great benefits of staying on property at Walt Disney World Resort.

Our trips to Walt Disney World Resort with 4 children are magical because we maintain a relaxed pace. Trying to do too much too fast is a recipe for vacation disaster.  After a good breakfast in our villa we enjoy a few hours at the park then head back to our resort villa for some downtime at the pool, lunchtime snacks and naps. By late afternoon I'm prepping for dinner and then we head back out to the parks to soak up some more fun times.

The nighttime fireworks shows and parades are an absolute delight for the whole family and we love taking advantage of nighttime magic hours! Every night is different and we play it by ear calling it quits at the first sign of yawns.

Staying on property makes the whole vacation experience more magical because you're not trying to figure out parking logistics and long drives to and from Walt Disney World.

I hope that helps to answer your question, and I wish you a magical and memorable Disney vacation!
