Hi! Do you have any cheap and creative ideas to 1.Thank my parents for taking me on a trip to WDW. It will be our 1st, and I've been begging for the last 2 years(Im 14) 2. Congratulate my mum for beating cancer! I really want it to be meaningful!

    Hi Christina!
First off, CONGRATULATIONS to your Mom for her victory over cancer. That is wonderful! Second, your parents are doing a great job raising such a thoughtful, thankful child. Good for you and for them!!
As for a "cheap and creative" surprise, I suggest calling Guest Services and trying to plan a special "meet and greet" with your Mom's favorite Disney character.
I was able to do this on my Mom's last Disney trip before she lost her battle with cancer back in 2001. My Mom's favorite character was Snow White, and she had been born in the same year that the movie was released. I called Guest Services about 3 months in advance and explained the situation and that this would likely be her last trip to Walt Disney World and my family and I wanted to make it special and memorable for her and for us. I asked if it was possible to schedule a private meet and greet with Snow White. The Cast Member took my vacation information and asked if she could call me back, which she did later that same day. She asked if we could all be at Magic Kingdom at a specific time and date during our vacation. On the day we arrived, we were brought back to a private room and asked to wait. The whiole time, my Mom was wondering what was going on. Within minutes, Snow White came through a side door and walked over and hugged my Mother. She spent at least 20 minutes with our entire family and really made a special moment for all of us.
I do not know if this is still something that Guest Services can do, but I would definitely explain your situation and ask if anything like this is possible. I think your Mom (and family) would love it. I hope this helps a bit and I wish you all the most Magical, memorable Disney trip possible!! :)
